Good behaviour at Dormston School is paramount at all times. We expect pupils to consider the following at all times:

  1. Dormston Standards  
 

We all support:
Attitudes and behaviour that support learning.
Equality of opportunity for all.
A safe and pleasant school
Respect for others at all times
Respect for property.

We do not accept:
Behaviour or language is demeaning (racism, sexism, bullying or harassment of others or sexual misconduct)
Behaviour which brings about abuse of school property or the site (dropping litter, graffiti, vandalism, theft)
Dangerous or harmful behaviour (violence, bringing harmful implements or banned substances on site)

 
     
  2. The Dormston Code  
  We expect pupils to:
• Allow others to learn
• Show others respect
• Follow instructions from all staff
• Look after the school
• Attend regularly and be on time
• Follow the Classroom and Corridor Codes
• Wear uniform correctly
• Leave valuables (eg. mobile phones, MP3 players,jewellery)at home
• Refrain from chewing around the school or in class
 
     
  3. The Classroom Code  
  Be silent and ready for the lesson to begin
Listen to and obey the teacher’s instructions
Respect others
Work with others safely
Write homework down in your diary/planner
Be silent and ready for the lesson to end
 
     
  4. The Corridor Code  
  Keep to the left
Be aware of others
Walk quietly and sensibly
Take the shortest route
Do not eat or drink
 
     
  5. Pupil Code  
 
  • Treat others as you would expect to be treated yourself
  • Report any incidents of concern
  • Don’t chew
  • Respect others; belongings, environment, religion, culture or values
  • No swearing
  • Respect boundaries between teachers and pupils
